If your child can already socialize with other kids, you may be familiar with kiddie parties by now. There are some parties that turn out ok, but there are those that could use better planning. Here are some tips if you’re planning on creating a party from scratch.
1. Plan the Theme
A children party is different from an adult’s party because there is usually a theme involved. The children you invited should be able to appreciate the theme. The party will not be a success if the theme is not relatable. Go for the evergreen themes like princess themes, cowboys, pirates and Disney themes.
2. Create Your Own Party Accessories
You can have your party catered, but you can take charge of the accessories. Use your crafting skills to create adorable favors. You can create your own party favors and giveaways. A few weeks before the party, you can spend an hour each day with your kids creating these wonderful crafts that you will use during the party.
3. Invitations and Guest Lists
Always make sure your guest list coincides with the number of people you’re preparing the party for. This is very important, especially when the party food is to be supplied by a caterer. You can tell the caterer to prepare fifty servings when you’ve invited forty guests so that there is more than enough food for everyone.
Contact the people on your list early. Keep your guests posted so that they can arrange their schedules. Tell them that they are invited so they can keep their schedules open for your party.
4. Games for the Party
Party games are so much a part of kiddie parties that the children have come to expect them. Boredom is one thing you don’t want kids to feel during the party. The energy should be kept high in a party so that everyone can have a good time. Games that are classic for birthdays include Break the Pinata and Trip to Jerusalem. You can have relay races or running games if you have a big lawn.
5. Cleaning Up
It may be shocking to realize just how much mess kids can make. Separate the biodegradable waste from the plastics so that you can help keep the environment clean.
